The man that saved him either taught or encouraged him to use his powers, the application of which allowed him to heal the wounded and possibly even bring back the dead (More on that below). Considering the game states that Tsubu was merely "sleeping", it seems her attempts at screwing around with that power woke him back up, and he was never really dead in the first place.Īs for his past, his abilities made the villagers think he was cursed, and to avoid catching whatever weird Voodoo he is "suffering" from, they tied him up somewhere to be eaten by vultures. One of the wood steles implies that he can also use his power for healing -> Hence the Ladies attempt at resurrecting her daughter. Tsubu has what I will just call "Magic", that allows him to animate and posses corpses. I have a theory that the corpse Tsubu is posing as might be the man that saved him.
All you get is that somebody "saved" Tsubu after he was left to die by the villagers, and might have taught him to utilize his powers. For the latter, I suspect it might be potential DLC. The game never tells us specifics about Tsubuyakus parents or the man that saves him.
